S Woods Training Academy offers a hands-on training course for individuals interested in earning their Commercial Driver's License (CDL). Throughout the CDL Training Course, students will have classroom, range, road, and curative training.
Training at S Woods Training Academy familiarizes students with the Mississippi CDL Requirements, driver safety, air brakes, combination vehicles, logbooks, trip planning, and public and employee relations requirements. The CDL Training Course will educate students, so they are prepared to take the Mississippi state licensing exam and obtain a Commercial Driver's License.
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
PRIOR TO ENROLLMENT PROSPECTIVE STUDENTS MUST:
S. Woods Training Academy is required to obtain a motor vehicle report. Financial assistance information will be provided to all students. Each prospective student must meet the following requirements of admission to qualifying for admittance to the S. Woods Training Academy.

Interview with an Admissions Representative or Agent.

Be eighteen (18) years of age to drive the intrastate or at least twenty-one (21) years of age to drive the interstate.

Have a valid driver's license at the time of enrollment.

Provide a social security card.

Complete enrollment agreement.

Must be able to pass an MDOT drug screen with a negative result and an approved MDOT physical.

Agree to remain drug-free and agree to random drug screens during training.

Must provide work history for the previous three (3) years.
Refresher courses. Any time in the future you wish to sharpen your driving skills, please feel free to contact us and arrange for additional driving and instruction time.

S Woods Training Academy provides truck driver training with an emphasis on highway safety, allowing individuals who demonstrate competency via both objective and subjective evaluation to qualify for entry-level employment in the trucking industry.
This program will enable adults (minimum age 18) to complete the truck driver CDL certification leading directly to jobs with higher salaries, healthcare benefits, and better career opportunities. The program consists of 160 total clock hours (50 classrooms, 46 range, 46 over-the-road, and 18 employer & soft skills training).
